Bio

I am an architect, working at the intersection of architecture, art and academia. I have a passion for creative explorations and artistic challenges and love to discover the possibilities of design. I work on a diverse range of projects where I seek to find and bring forth beauty, exciting experiences and meaningful works.

My roots go back to growing up in the majestic outdoors of Colorado where I developed a deep fondness and appreciation for our natural world. Much of my childhood was spent playing in a sandbox, building model cars, designing elaborate zoos, constructing shell cities and sketching exuberant hotels filled with animals and waterslides. My zest for creating and thirst for learning took my educational studies to Illinois, Arizona, France and Germany.

Always seeking out new challenges and adventure, I had the incredible experience of working for many years with the world-renown Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron. I lived in San Francisco, Switzerland, and Miami, where I worked on the MH de Young Museum in San Francisco and was put in charge of one of their most ambitious projects to date, 11 11 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach.

In 2007, I began my own professional journey, founding Haas Architecture as a unique design studio, where I work on a select number of projects. I dedicate myself fully to each work in order to ensure it arrives at its fullest potential. With this focus, my projects have received local and international recognition, aired on television and have been widely published.

I maintain a love for the outdoors, am an avid surfer and bring this passion forward into my work by designing artistic, yet responsible projects that are aligned with our planet’s care.

When I’m not creating, I love hanging out with my two inquisitive boys Sebastian and Maximo, and my incredible wife, Corinne – a former professional ballet dancer, intuitive healer and author – who remains my favorite collaborator.

I currently live and work in San Francisco, CA.
